Welcome to the ACP Advocate,
Today we start by letting you know about a new paper we just put out about how to improve Medicare Advantage plans. As part of ACP's Patients Before Paperwork initiative, this paper is just one of the ways that we are looking to reduce administrative burdens for physicians and improve the practice experience.
Our second article this issue looks at the upcoming open enrollment season for health insurance plans on the Affordable Care Act marketplaces. With the various ways that enrollment is being harmed this year, lack of outreach, a shortened enrollment period, website outages, you may find patients who need more help than in previous years. If you have patients who might need help finding insurance or choosing a new plan, I encourage you to read the article and check out the ACP resources that can help your patients find information on their options.
Finally, our last article lets you know about a statement ACP sent out in reaction to the recent shooting in Las Vegas. Firearms injuries and deaths are a public health issue, and something must be done to prevent them.
